Sometimes it may be necessary to change the file extension to open the file or files with a different application or in a different method. Here's the procedure :
- Go to the Tools menu.
- Select Folder Options.
- In the 'View' tab, uncheck the option "Hide extensions for known file types" and apply.
- Now rename the file by replacing the existing extension with the one you need.
